Oval Carbon Fiber Tube
JCC oval carbon fiber tube is fabricated by using multiple layers of high-quality prepreg carbon fiber fabric through high-temp compression molding and roll-wrapped processes . Generally speaking, each layer thickness of our oval carbon tube is about 0.006″, that means a tube with a wall thickness of 0.060″ will typically be composed of 9-10 individual layers of carbon fiber. The number of layers allows us to change the lay-up orientation of the fibers throughout the same thickness, designing a high performance of oval carbon tubes.
How to lay up the layers of oval carbon fiber tubes?
JCC oval carbon fiber tubes is composed by about 9-10 layers of prepreg carbon fiber fabric which is layed up in a regual direction.
The inside first layer: 0°
The second layer: 0° The third-fouth layer: ±45° ,The fifth-sixth layer: ±45° The seventh-eighth layer: 0°
The outside ninth layer: 0/90°
- 0° Fibers maximize longitudinal bending stiffness. Suitable for applications requiring longitudinal loads.
- 45° Fibers enhance shear resistance, impact toughness torsional stiffness which is typically plied together in an opposing manner, i.e. ±45°.
- 90° Fibers maximize lateral strength and crushing stiffness which enhances the performance under lateral load.
