The tapered carbon fiber tubes from JCC is manufactured using the roll wrapped and high-temp molding process with the high strength Toray carbon fiber fabric and epoxy resin matrix, which is concial with one end diameter is larger than the other side. When laying up the layers of fiber and roll wrapping the carbon tubes, the fiber orientation is 0/90°, that will make the carbon tubes high bending stiffness and axial strength, as well as high hoop strength (resisting crushing by side loads). After laminating, the tapered carbon fiber tube will be the desired size and then coated.
